HELLO, WE ARE TEMBLORES ONG

👉 We believe in a social movement that shakes the tectonic plates, that rattles, that generates small local revolutions, and that allows us to build firm foundations to fight against violence.

Read the press releases issued by Temblores ONG in the framework of the national strike of April and May 2021, with reports of police violence documented through our GRITA platform.

📢 GRITA PLATFORM

GRITA (acronym in Spanish that stands for Grabar, Registrar, Investigar, Triangular, Asistir) is a platform that aims to facilitate police violence reports in order to contribute to its eradication. We believe that by recording, registering, investigating, triangulating information from the reports, and legally assisting victims of police violence, we can prevent authority abuses by the police forces. GRITA is a collective project.

Bolillo, Dios y Patria

The following is proof that police violence is not due to bad behavior of a few officers but a structural and systematic problem. It has its roots, fundamentally, in legislative omission and the obsolete ideas that force guarantees public order and that the nation is built by the hand of the riot stick. These are foundational to the Colombian State project.

Silencio Oficial

silencio-oficial.png

The struggles against systematic impoverishment, state violence and the destruction of the most vulnerable communities have led the citizens to mobilize in the public space. Against all odds, the protest has taken to streets, roads, squares, come rain, come shine, or come fire from truflay, to seek a new wind: to build a fairer and more egalitarian country.

Algo Huele Mal

algo-huele-mal.png

In Colombia, the life experiences of homeless people are affected by discrimination, socio-spatial exclusion, and the systematic denial of their fundamental and collective rights. Algo huele mal dives into the dirty waters that feed the chain of violence that threatens the integrity, dignity, and lives of homeless people on a daily basis to find that the structural violence faced daily by this population is based on a problem that afflicts all Colombian cities: the absence of free public toilets.

Qué Maricada con Nuestros Derechos

In Bogotá, we queers are systematically denied our right to peacefully occupy the streets and public spheres. Although after many years of struggle we have seen the emergence of legal mechanisms to protect us and guarantee our access to fundamental rights, the violence against our bodies has not yet ceased.

Los Nunca Nadie

los-nunca-nadie.png

The report, launched at the end of 2018, presents results on violence, including homicidal, physical, and symbolic, towards homeless people in Colombia during the last ten years.
